The History Behind Our
Company

In this decade, we proudly stand by the brand name of “Asiri” as a medium-scaled company which has being in the food industry for a continuous period of 29 years. After evolving through many years and while achieving numerous milestones, our company has spread its wings to become a well-established company in our country. Currently our production range goes to a total of 25 various types of products with a direct employment of 150 individuals and with the distribution based upon an island-wide network comprising coverage of 7000 outlets.

In the year of 1991, the initiative was taken to begin our company by the name of “Asiri Products” as a household-business at No.1B, Temple Road, Nedagamuwa, and Kotugoda in the Gampaha District of Western Province Sri Lanka. At first, the business was solely based on cashew production and distribution with the involvement of only the family members comprising of a brother and mother. The span of delivery was within few of the nearby shops around the residence including a few numbers of selected shops in Colombo. This process of cashew distribution was done daily with the primary need of finding a way to cope up with the day-to-day expenses.

Focusing on the near future, we are set out to accomplish a number of pre-set goals. A few of them are as follows:

- To innovate new products while diversifying our currently available products.
- To achieve market and sales expansion in the local market.
- To pave our path in to the foreign market and in turn to earn foreign exchange to the country.
- To build up market linkages for rural farmers with the aim of building up a stable economic status.
- To provide direct and indirect job opportunities for the youth as well as women focusing on empowerment of women.
- To sustain the environment while producing eco-friendly products with minimized environmental pollution.
